I had a fun time celebrating my birthday on Thursday last week. I think after I hit the big Three-Oh, birthdays are more sedate affairs, where previously it would be marked by 7 days and 7 nights of drinking and dancing. Well... more drinks and dances, because back then, I still had the energy to party almost every night of the week!
3 years ago, I celebrated my birthday in Bali, during our honeymoon, and had a magical time. A year later, I was in my first trimester and glowing with anticipation, whilst wondering why I wasn't plagued by the usual pregnancy symptoms apart from the insatiable hunger which made me feel almost blimp-like. Last year, I spent my birthday with my little family for the first time, and I revelled in the fact that I shared the day with the two people who mean the world to me.
This year, I had the privilege of sharing my day with the most awesome group of Mom bloggers ever!
We try to meet up monthly just to 'talk' in real life as opposed to having chats via the keyboard, and it so happened that this month's meeting fell on the 28th of June! (Thanks Rachel for the date change, and for being the voice of reason, as always!)
Dominique baked me a cake. A home-made cake especially for me, fancy that!!
Amie got me my favourite cupcakes from twelve cupcakes - who cares about calories?
Susan, thank you for the canvas alphabets!
A special mention also to Adeline and Jennifer, who initially couldn't make it but braved hell and high water just to make me laugh and feel loved!!
Here's the birthday girl, with her lovely Tiger cake. The cake was fabMoolicious!
They sang me a birthday song. LOUD.
That's what you get when a bunch of mummies who are used to celebrating their children's birthdays get together. Doesn't matter that the subject in question isn't 3 or 8 but oh well... it's still a special day regardless!
Thank you to all the wonderful ladies who made the afternoon a very special one for me. It's been a privilege to be in the fold, and all of you are not only wonderful mums, but sources of inspiration!

In the spirit of turning another year older, here are ten random things about me.
1. Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 23, and find line 4. What is it?
'... end of our days - far better to let the world think we were dead...'
(pretty morbid for such a happy post!)
2. How many times a day do you say Hi?
Maybe once or twice, and only when the person says 'Hi' first, and only to those whom I barely know. People who know me well usually don't say Hi... they greet me with something rude sounding as a term of endearment. Harlow!! or Oi! is as good as it gets.
3. Have you ever worn a uniform?
Yes. At school, and when I was on the operations side at the F & B establishment where I'm currently working at.
4. What do you think about the most?
What? Hmmm... that's a pretty tough one. If I have to think about what I think about the most, I guess I am not thinking about it enough for it to be all that important, after all.
If the question said: Who - then the answer will be a no-brainer!
5. How many keys are on your keyring?
I have 5 keys on a disconstructed Mickey Mouse keychain. For the gate, the front door, the room door, the office door and room's bathroom door (recent addition because BabyMoo now knows how to turn the lock!)
6. What was the last thing you bought?
Starbucks' Hojicha with Earl Grey Jelly - sipping it now as I type this. Heaven in a Grande plastic cup.
7. Are you growing anything these days?
My Money Tree didn't grow, despite staunch faith in the power of belief. So nope... I'm still sulking and boycotting all manner of growing stuff, including babies.
8. What is under your bed?
Nothing... because my bed is a sunken one - so no monsters or hunky men down below!
9. What is most important in life?
Happiness. Laughter. Being happy with the ones I love.
Oh... and perhaps a teensy weensy bit o' buckeroos to allow me to concentrate on being happy!
10. What is the strangest word you used this week?
Up there. In this very post. 'fabMoolicious' - for Fabulously Delicious, according to MummyMoo!
